Outlook for High Point Terrace Real Estate
High Point terrace is one of those neighborhoods in Memphis that just seems to stand the test of time. Home values in the community have steadily risen and surpassed the averages we saw during the housing bubble and eventual crash of 2008. Residents here are either remodeling older homes or doing complete tear downs in favor of new construction, which is helping to increase overall property values. The walkability and convenience of the neighborhoods is another factor that we will continue to see strong demand for homes for sale in High Point Terrace.
Types of Homes for Sale in High Point Terrace
There are a total of 1,377 homes in High Point Terrace, most of which are single-family residences with a few being duplexes. Most of the houses are 3 bedroom/2 Bath, but as previously stated, many residents are choosing to remodel and add on a fourth bedroom, so we will probably start to see more and more 4 Bedroom options as time goes on. The average sales price is around $300K, but can vary greatly depending on the condition of the home and location within the community.
The majority of homes here were built in the 1940's with some of the earliest streets being Philwood, Kenwood and Shirlwood. While many of the homes have been renovated, most of them have kept their architectural integrity that makes High Point Terrace so unique.
What it's like to live in High Point Terrace
The core of High Point Terrace is anchored by a neighborhood market place that boasts a mom & pop style grocery store, pub, pizza restaurant, dental office, barber shop and the popular restaurant, Cheffie's. You'll want to get to the pizza place early on Friday afternoons to grab a seat outside as it is a very popular spot for families.
When the weather is nice, it's not uncommon to see neighbors strolling down the street or taking advantage of the Shelby Farms Green Line, which runs through the neighborhood.
